Velvet flower headband

What you need:

Ribbon (I used 1 ½ inch wide Lavender Velvet and 7/8 inch Sage Green Chiffon Ribbon)

Pretty Vintage Button

Thin Elastic 2 ½ inches long

Thread

How to make it:

1. Cut 5 pieces of Velvet ribbon each 4 inches long. Measure 1 ¾ inch on each piece and at that spot gather the ribbon up (from side to side) with thread.

2. Fold each piece in half (right sides out) with the gathered side on the back. Using needle and thread and gather the bottom together and attach all of the petals together. Draw them into a circle (or flower shape) and knot.

3. Sew the button into the middle of the “flower”.

4. Cut a piece of both the velvet and chiffon ribbon at 18 ½ inches long. Lay the chiffon on top of the velvet. Attach the flower at 5 inches up on the ribbon.

5. Sew both ends of the ribbon to the elastic so the ribbon and elastic form a band. Fold the parts of the ribbon that are wider than the elastic around the elastic before sewing.

Enjoy!

When I wore it I placed the flower just over my ear, Mara put the flower a bit higher up. You can put it wherever you like best! :-)
